A Special Moment

High above the bustling walking path of the Lake Okahumpka Recreation Center, I discovered a sacred sanctuary of silence unfolding within the canopy. In this photograph,

I captured a profound dialogue without words—the compassionate glance of a red-shouldered hawk mother as she anchors her fragile eyas in a world of wonder.

For me, it is a portrait of living loving-kindness, where the fierce, sharp talons of an apex predator yield entirely to the velvet tenderness of a maternal touch.

Standing beneath the nest and looking up through my lens, my spirit was struck by a wave of humbling reverence. Witnessing such fierce majesty completely dissolve into pure, protective gentleness filled my soul with a profound serenity, completely erasing the noise of the world below.

I created this print to capture that rare, breathtaking interface of strength and vulnerability, preserved to fill your space with a deep, echoing warmth.

Behind My Lens

  • The Focal Point: The powerful, intimate gaze I captured between the mother hawk and her chick, highlighting the contrast between sharp features and soft care.

  • The Palette: A rich, natural canopy harmony of deep nest wood barks, soft downy whites, mottled hawk browns, and sun-dappled Florida greens.

  • The Style: High-end fine art avian photography, emphasizing macro-level crispness on the eyes and feathers with a soft, non-distracting background.

Premium Print Options
