Ms Roseate Glory-Us SpoonbillÂ
story and photography by: Lou ChmuraÂ
This glorious roseate spoonbill photography print was captured at the Orlando Wetlands high atop of a tall pine limb against the brilliant backdrop of a bright beautiful blue sky,
Â
I stood captivated by a vision of pure brilliance—a striking, vivid Roseate Spoonbill.
Â
In a world framed by deep green foliage this magnificent wading bird sat like a living jewel, a true "Roseate Glory-us" sight that took my breath away. Often called "pink wings in a green world," it held me spellbound with its inherent elegance and grace.
Â
As it stirred on its perch, it flashed vibrant shades of delicate rose and intense magenta, electrified by the deep red of its wing coverts. To witness this spectacular contrast against the ancient, hanging moss and the endless blue sky was to see poetry in motion—a breathtaking, splendorous flash of color that celebrated the wild, radiant spirit of the wetlands.
