One Last Peek
I captured this sandhill crane newborn colt photography print as I watched the Florida sun dip below the sawgrass of the Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve.
In that fading light, the vastness of the marsh narrowed to a single, sacred sanctuary as the young colts, Goldie and Lucky, dissolved into the silvered down of their mother’s protective wings.
Before fully surrendering to sleep, Goldie stole one last peek at the world—a single golden eye perfectly meeting the burning golden horizon. It was a quiet ritual of closure, a soft boundary where the day’s playful rivalry dissolved into absolute peace.
Standing in the deepening twilight, a profound stillness washed over me, leaving my heart completely suspended in time.
Witnessing that tiny, curious eye locked with the dying sun stirred a wave of raw, deeply grounding emotion—a reminder of how small we are, yet how safely we are held by the universe.
This moving piece of Florida wildlife fine art print, “One Last Peek,” captures a gentle, nurturing atmosphere and a serene sense of quiet comfort.
A breathless transition from wakefulness to dreams, preserved to radiate a profound, meditative serenity into any space it fills.
